“Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.” This is arguably the most famous quote Napoleon Hill, a renowned writer whose ideologies have reshaped the modern world. But despite reading such inspirational and motivational quotes many of us are still stuck in reverse gear. Yes you have an amazing job and your career is blooming, but you still feel a void in your life. Yes, you are surrounded by the most-loving family and amazing circle of friends but you still feel unmotivated and you find your life is unfulfilled and lacking the “Oomph.” Well, it all has to do with your mental mindset.

Truth is many people though looking successful from the outside (a big car, a big mansion on the hills or beach villa, a great job, loving family….) many aren’t very optimistic about life. They go through it as if they were zombies or robots and fail to appreciate the beauty of life. And just as Walt Disney said “All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them,” you can change your mind set. All you need is following the tips below:

1. Begin Your Day on a Positive Note

Remember the common saying that states that a good day is seen in the morning? To have positive energy throughout the day, you need to feed your mind with positive vibrations. Always begin by doing something you really like and not chores you don’t like. Perform some yoga, read some inspirational quotes, check emails before heading for that brainstorming meeting or facing your annoyed customers/clients.

2. Feed Your Mind with Healthy Material

Yes it’s true that reading tabloids or gutter press gives you some sudden kick. Or maybe you like hanging around the coffee machine discusses your bosses and other work colleagues (especially the one who likes keeping it to him at the corner). But truth is such vibe is not only destructive but also negatively interferes with your mindset. You would be better off going through some reading that inspires mental, spiritual, financial and social growth. And as Bikram Choudhury said “Negative attitude is nine times more powerful than positive attitude.” Don’t sacrifice your positivism in favor of negativism without knowing.

3. Practice Gratitude

How often to you tell people thank you or appreciate their effort however little it may be? Chances are the answer to this question won’t be very encouraging and this is reflective of your mindset. You will realize that once you start appreciating life and the things around it, you will find it easy to be thankful and also lend a helping hand to others. This was the same force that drove the likes of Mother Theresa and Mahatma Gandhi. Also and remember being thankful or showing gratitude isn’t a sign of weakness. This is well illustrated by Eleanor Roosevelt’s quote “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.”

4. Rely on Focus Blocks

Even the strongest and most positive minds will be overcome by negativity at some point. The difference between them and other people is that they have learnt to accept their situation and re-energize their minds by using focus blocks. The secret is learning what triggers them and how to stop drifting away. If its Facebook or Twitter, set times on when you will go tweet or poke your friends. If it is the television, consider turning it off and if not possible find an area that doesn’t have one. This allows you to shape your mental attitude and determine the path you want to take.
